Let the cat out of the bag!

Intro – Setting the Stage

Enter a world where magic exists.  Where all that you want is at the tip of your fingers.  All you need is a magical key to open a box to a world where freedom exists.

A choice of what you do when you wake up each morning…or perhaps

Being able to say no when it is something you just don’t want to do because the consequences may not have much impact on your life.  What is that like?

Let us dive into an understanding of how to get what is inside the box.  The key to something much bigger than a single transaction.

Get in line so you can get your ticket to board the train to the land of “Financial Freedom Forever.”  In order to get there we must first understand the question…Why should you care about making and earning money?

Why do we need money?

For some this is obvious.  For others, it may be a lesson in becoming an adult or just not having thought about this in a certain way.

No matter the reason, it is important to understand why making and earning money is essential.

Let us take the first steps to the trail of freedom as we walk through the question of “Why do we need money?”

Water within a home costs money and so do water bottles.  The most basic of needs although there are some places you can nab free water.

So unfortunately sometimes for us humans eating is a thing. Without food, we eventually get sick, starve, and cannot function.

This can mean different things to different people.  While some can survive without this if you argue the homeless population, I’ve yet to hear someone desire to not have a roof over their head.

Remember the elements can be brutal.  What if you encounter a natural disaster?

Even homeless shelters open up in a time of need when flooding, high winds, or other unsafe conditions happen.

While this may or may not typically be under survival, basic clothes still rank as a necessity.  Walking into a store will require clothing.  Functioning in normal society requires clothing.  Let’s not forget about shoes or other types of footwear if for no other reason than to protect our feet.

So we can agree a roof of some sort over your head is a necessity.  Some bills can lead to other bills like renting or owning leads to utility bills for water, power, garbage pickup, etc.   Here are some other bills that are typically on most budgets.

If you obtain a roof over your head in the traditional sense, you will likely be owing someone money.  If you get a loan, you’ll owe a bank, credit union.  If you rent directly from someone you’ll owe that person or company.

If you own, now you’ll embark on the magical journey of home insurance to prevent loss should something happen to your home.

Once you figure out a way to earn money, you will likely need to travel to reach your place of work. Of course, there is the option of walking, but sometimes it is neither feasible nor safe. You may decide on public transit, a bicycle, a scooter, or a car. Each of these, in one form or another, will cost you—some more than others.

If you buy a car, you will also enter the wonderful world of car insurance. This is typically billed monthly with an annual renewal, but some exceptions, such as every six months, are also common depending on the insurance company.

While we touched on water we didn’t touch on electric or gas.  A roof comes with responsibilities like power bills, garbage collection fees, and repairs.  Depending on the lifestyle you choose you’ll enter these in one way or another.

Did you make any purchases today for something you needed?  Groceries? Pet supplies? Baby formula?  A new car part?

So you need _____?  Fill in the blank….

Most of the time, you’re going to have to give something for that thing.  No matter where in the world you are (most of the time) you’ll need currency for that thing.  Yes there are arguments for trading and negotiations but if you’re the average consumer you will be paying with money for your request.

So you need your car fixed?  But you don’t just pay for the parts.  You pay for labor.  You pay the company paying the mechanic so they will provide the service.

In theory, the more money you make the less you should have to struggle and the more freedom you should have.  There are always exceptions to the rule.

It’s just the way the world works.  If the entire world ran on corn I bet we’d all be growing as much corn as possible and arguing over the land to grow it on.

If only money grew on trees…

If you need a super doctor where would you find one?  You may be able to afford it and find it with more money.

Ya know sometimes stress can really wreak havoc on our health.  Money can sometimes fix problems linked to that stress.

Now let’s observe the importance of money for students.  With more funding comes opportunities for higher learning and improved skillsets. In theory, the more you pay for education, the higher learning quality you should receive. However, this is not always true as finding a good deal may just be about where you are looking.

Sometimes the quality of where you live, where you shop, where you travel, etc. are dependent on factors that have to do with money.

Who doesn’t want to feel and be financially secure?  When you begin feeling financially secure within yourself and are able to begin growing funds a few things happen for the positive.

Not thinking about the stresses of unexpected expenses and where the money will come from helps your overall health and likely will allow you more peaceful cat naps.

Once you’ve got financial security in your pocket and the debt monster off your back, you’ll finally have some cash that isn’t just swallowed up by bills. That’s your golden ticket to start investing in you—yep, yourself!

Think of it as planting seeds for your future: leveling up your skills, diving into new knowledge, personal growth tools, or even tossing some money into smart investments that’ll pay off down the road. The best part? You get to reap all those sweet financial rewards.

Goals often require being fueled by money (spend money to make money.)

Some desires require money to obtain them (Your dream house with a fancy pool in the backyard.)

Regardless of what you want to achieve or want, somewhere along the line you’ll need to tap into money to get you there.

After all, who wants to work forever?

While many people retire in their 60’s, some people retire earlier than this.  It’s not easy or everyone would do it right?

If you’re going to retire early, surely you’re a planner.  You likely have calculated how much money you should have in X number of years.  You can see the key to the magical box.

A step of the ladder that many take in hopes of the compounding interest key.  Smart investing can lead you to the end of the trail and staring at the key to help unlock the box (A path to a forever financial freedom.)

Conclusion

Once you fully understand all of this above, it becomes a step in a journey to board the train to the land of the magic box.

The key awaits you but not without many challenges and obstacles before you realize you can get to where the key resides.

  • Will the ground from underneath you shake in an attempt to rattle all the money from your pockets?
  • Will there be an internal battle of the mind to make you question every step you have taken thus far?
  • Will you have to fight off a fire-breathing dragon?
